The Club is growing and building its boys and girls junior cricket programs. The emphasis in the early years is teaching children the fundamentals of cricket, but more critically, of being good sports, treating one another and their rival teams with respect, and building friendships and community.

The Club’s value to many parents is the opportunity it presents to their children to form community bonds beyond their existing school networks, and to encourage children to be active members of their local community. Above all we want all our children to have fun as they learn new skills and form new friendships.

South Sydney Mt Carmel Junior Cricket Club Learning Strategy

The South Sydney Mount Carmel Junior Cricket Club was founded in 1978 and provides a fun, encouraging and social cricketing experience for girls and boys aged 6-16. It is affiliated with the South Eastern Junior Cricket Association and Cricket NSW.

The South Sydney Mount Carmel Junior Cricket Club offers the South Sydney community a focal point for cricket loving children and their families to enjoy the game and build social connections in the area. The Club’s strategic principles are:

  • Nurture growth in players and coaches, and through them grow the Club

  • Sporting and respectful conduct towards teammates, Club volunteers and opponents

  • Strive to be the best cricketer you can be.

About Our Cricket Club

The Club lives on the work of our volunteers and we welcome parents offering their enthusiastic support.

We are currently seeking volunteers as team coaches and managers, and to serve on the Club’s Board. In particular we are seeking a volunteer to act as the Club’s child protection officer.
